    Hi,

My Hotpoint Washer Dryer WD72 slowly fills with water when the machine is off. Doesn’t happen every time, but every now & again. Few days ago my wife went to put washing in, opened the door, and water flooded out. And every so often, after we’ve had the dryer on when going to bed, the next morning the bottom clothes in the drum are soaking whilest the top ones are bonedry — i.e. as the drum slowly fills with water. Like I said, doesn’t happen every time, but has happened about 4 times now, with once being the very full one mentioned above. Any ideas would be most welcome!

Turn off ONE of the fill hoses. If the filling stops, the valve on the stopped hose is the leaker. If the filling continues, the one that isn’t turned off is the leaker. Simples.

Water valves to fit your machine are HERE.
