Hotpoint WD72, new control board fitted — dryer problem

Hi, pls refer to my post in Aug about my Hotpoint WD72 Washer Dryer 1200 (http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/modules.p … 099#239099). My door switch blew, and this took out my control board.

I ordered new parts via ukwhitegoods. We’ve now finally fitted them (long story why we waited so long), and the washing machine works again — whoo!

However… the dryer doesn’t work anymore. The row of horizontal buttons on the front ‘beep’ when pressed, but most of them don’t elicit any other reaction from the machine. One or 2 of them do, but not the function printed by the button, e.g. the dryer button now operates the fast cycle function.

Also, when I hold the cancel button in for a couple of seconds, the display shows “Washer 1000” — is this indicative of a wrong control module or wrong firmware on it (is it showing what it thinks the machine is, whereas my machine is a “Washer Dryer 1200”)?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. With a little 17 month old boy, not having a dryer is quite a hassle! 🙂

Hi,

I now understand that a PCB has to be set-up for your specific model of machine. I also understand that there should have been a document with the board detailing this — but there wasn’t. Can anyone help please? How can I set up the control PCB for my HotPoint WD72 1200 Washer Dryer?

With machine switched OFF.

Hold down the A,B & D buttons and switch on.

Display will now show WM1000 or WM1200.

Press the A button to scroll through the options.

When you get to WD1200 rpm press the START button,

Display will show English, press it again and display should show ‘Select Programme’
Machine is now ready for use.
