    I have acquired the above machine because the lady said everytime she switched it off at the plug it would reset back to choosing a language. It does exactly this. Leaving it on standby i have also found it switches itself back on! I have had the main controls circuit iut and it all appears healthy. Could it be the main PCB at the bottom?

    Any help appreciated

    Ok, thanks Martin. Dont think it will be worthwhile replacing as the bearings will probably go within the next 6 months as the machine is already 5 years old (being a Hotpoint!)
