Ok I understand……im not familiar with the position and fixing method for the thermal fuse…..as have not seen one yet in the field……can you shed some light on where it sits please…..as for thickness of box the thermal conductivity for aluminium is so good I cant see it being a problem…it may just take slightly longer to get there if it is thicker….

I really appreciate your help hotpnt. I notice new ish to UKWG if not already said welcome!!!!

well the latest (3rd) type of heatbox have the cut-out cable with the thermal fuse section clamped down hard, with a metal clip, to the top of the box, above the heater & centrally over the element so that it can detect any excess rise in the element temperature (like blockage or fan failure)

Doesn’t this one require an eeprom rewrite if fitted to earlier machines. ❓ 😥

OK thanks for info….but safety is the priority obviously……can anyone see a real ploblem with converting to the fuse? as long as I strap it tightly to top of heater as described it should be fine I imagine?

would you do it? what do you all think? anyone else done it?

    Any oppinions greatly appreciated please!!!!
