    Hi,

    I’d really like some advice. I have a Hotpoint WD860 with a F-01 fault.

The machine turns on fine, you can select a program. Then as soon as the program starts the pump kicks in and it flashes END and then F-01. The pump remains ON. And you can’t turn the machine off extra by the plug.

Any ideas of what could be wrong and whether I can replace the part?

    Thanks a lot.

The part that needs replacing is likely to be the whole machine. 🙁

F01 is supposed to be a faulty motor triac, a component on the main pcb.

If you are very, very lucky it could be loose or broken motor wiring plug connections.
If not then the pcb will need changing, a new pcb will also need programming as well.

    Thanks.
Is that the pcb which controls the front panel including switches?
Or is it the main board?

The main board looks double the price and a bit harder to replace! Given the machine is 9yrs old.

    Thanks

The main board, around £100 but needs a £20 smart card and a £103 card reader to program.

You could always send the board off to EMW. 😉

Thanks. It’s nine years old so I think I’ll invest in a new one this time!
