Is there any way I can reset my machine after seeing this message?

Or do I need a spare part?

I have never used the drying function, as it doesn’t heat up (machine was given to me) so I don’t know how it has developed a fault!

    Any ideas?

You cannot ‘reset’ the controls when a fault is flagged up. Even if you do not use the dryer side the control PCB checks all the components before a wash can start. You have to rectify the fault.

It may just be a simple loose wire on top of the heater box. Remove the mains plug first and take the top off and have a look at the wiring on top of the alloy heater box. In particular the very thin wires going to the NTC ( temperature sensor)

If all the wiring is in situ then you may have a component failure. The drying side of this machine is 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} Indesit and does suffer from faulty elements, loose fans, broken wiring, one shot stat failures, etc.

All the wires appear to be intact, and the fan motor is spinning

Just because the fan motor is spinning doesn’t mean that the fan itself has not come adrift from the motor shaft inside the heater box, a very common fault.

Sometimes the very thin wires appear to be intact but the wiring inside the insulation can break.

You need to test all the dryer components, heater, one shot safety stat and NTC with a multimeter or similar.

Would refitting the fan make the fault code disappear?

Very unlikely as the fan coming loose can lead to other component failure, see above post.

Not really sure what I’d suppose to be looking for on each wire (continuity/resistance/voltage)

    Any suggestions?

Simple continuity through the one shot stat, continuity and resistance on the heater and NTC.
