ParticipantHopefully this is an easy question. Is someone able to tell me where the transit bolts are on this machine?
We’ve just moved into a new flat with this brand new Washer/Dryer but without an instruction booklet. We did our first load last night and the machine spun 180 on the spot and almost ripped the pipes from the wall. There’s not a lot of movement in the drum so I thought I should check that the transit bolts have been removed.
Cheers,

IIRC there are two bolts at the back about two thirds of the way up the cabinet….keep unscrewing them until they feel free then slide them sideways in the key slot and withdraw them. They can be identified by the plastic cap alongside them that then blanks the hole once the bolts are withdrawn.

Thanks for the quick response Clive.
There is the silver metal bracket across the back of the machine about two thirds of the way up that has two bolts on black rubber washers. There are slots in the metal next to them so they could be slid sideways as you describe but there’s no plastic caps that I can see. They sound like the correct bolts but the last thing I want to do is remove the wrong thing and hear the drum hit the floor.

Those are the correct bolts, however I would suggest running the machine without clothes on a rinse & spin cycle, after you have removed them and check for any leaks etc. Using the machine with these bolts in place can do severe damage to the nylon outer drum.

Aren’t the wash tubs constructed of polypropylene, with a glass reinforcing mixture added? Nylon is quite a different plastic…
