Hotpoint WD865 ‘Test’ fault

Just been out to a one month old Hotpoint WD865 date code 35, if you set any program once you start it the display changes to read ‘TEST’.
What i take to be a test program runs then finishes but if you try another program it just starts the test all over again!
Have tried unplugging & cancelling programmes to no avail 🙁

The customer rents the property and cannot get a reciept or much help from the landlord hence me being there.
Any ideas? possibly just a reset procedure?

Hi Ray

Hold in start / cancel until all lights come on. Then press start / cancel and on / off together this should then take machine out of “test”.

I wonder if this info is in the user manual? judging by the number of posts from different people over a short period of time in this thread.
