ParticipantI am trying to find the part number for a motor for a Hotpoint WDL520P(UK)C 805101363 S.No:601819011363.
Connect have identified the motor as a MERC00518156 but this is incorrect. The original is a Nidec Sole as the part suggested but the replacement doesn’t fit. The original is a square shape motor whereas the one supplied by Connect is round and the front of the casing catches on the bottom of the tub so won’t go back on the fixings.
The original is 14000RPM 440W 2A and the replacement 12500RPM 400w 1.9A.Connect have double-checked this on the Hotpoint website and still say the one supplied is it’s correct.
Does anyone have any alternative information please?

DonIf I put that number into https://parts.indesit.co.uk I get the message “This part C00141663 has been superseded by part C00518156” which is the number Connect gave me. Interestingly though, the image on the indesit site matches the original motor
.
The MERC00518156 received from Connect had the correct Hotpoint part number on it so not an error by Connect.
It looks like the type of motor varies depending on where you look. ukwhitegoods shows the round type.April 9, 2021 at 6:21 pm #476188murv
ParticipantHave had the front edge of original Sole and late Nidec motors scuff against the the drum during installation but so far they have all slid onto the mounts, sometimes with a bit of force.
Motor rating plates vary by manufacturer and rarely specify the maximum speed.

This would have needed a lot of force and even then I wasn’t sure it would go.
As it didn’t look or feel right I assumed it was the wrong motor.April 9, 2021 at 7:33 pm #476190electrofix

ParticipantI discounted the C00254768 (3 leg motor) as it is not listed on factory code 80 models built in Comunanza Italy.
As far as I am aware it only fits the Kinmel Park produced model (WDL520PUK.K) fitted with a screwed WMA type drum.

if that number is wrong and really ends 0097 then above motor numbers are correct
if your code is correct then its linked to model WDL520PUKC58 and the motor on that one is C00505422

ParticipantWell done Dave, too new for my information.
A new one fitted with the Whirlpool 58L tank. These usually do not have the 58 suffix on the model label which is most unhelpful.

ParticipantOh, I don’t know about that Dave. I only have experience of a very limited range of products & components. Much of my data these days comes from reverse engineering or sifting out and storing relevant information others have published on the web.
I have not had direct access to servicenet or any trade info for a number of years now. The stuff I work on for local traders is usually quite old so I am often stuck in a time warp when reading about the latest models.
