    HI,

    Our hotpoint WDL540 washer/dryer stops shortly after starting a wash cycle. Water starts flowing through the detergent tray but then it stops. Then it has another go. Then maybe another. Then nothing else (except for a few clicks inside the unit).

    The unit will drain if set to drain. (So the pump seems OK). Some water is flowing in, so I think the water supply seems OK.

    I have tried turning the unit off for a long period (to reset) but it makes no difference.

    Oddly, there are no flashing lights to indicate an error. The only lights lit are the “wash cycle” and “door locked” lights.

    Does anybody have a view? I’d really appreciate some advice.

    You need to check the motor brushes,they are more than likely worn…

    got same symptoms as this today. went straight for the motor but it is perfectly ok and spins like a goodun.

    any other theories or did this machine get binned.
