    Hi – got a Hotpoint WDL540P which has a clicking interlock when start is pressed – does lock, but then when trying to start get about 6 clicks which sort of fade away. Fitted new lock and carbon brushes to motor as they were quite worn. Is this a module failure or something more sinister?? Many thanks in advance guys.

    its worth a try cleaning and tightening the connections on the pcb,
    it worked for me before.

    I have had the module off and checked connections. What are the chances of the motor then? Not had this before. Def rule out module do you think?

    I hate to admit this, but hey I’m always honest which is why my customers like me… I’d not pushed a connector on to one of the brushes correctly. So yes the fault was rectified by new brushes. You live and learn 🙂
