Hotpoint WDM73 washer/ drier. Serial No. 18155142.
This machine resembles a WD71 in silver. The machine fills, (to a very high water level); the pump kicks in and machine beeps. I thought it was just a straightforward overfill fault, so I took the pressure switch off and set the machine to a fill and blew into the p/sw. (it’s a one-click unit). The machine then drained and beeped. 😕
I am thinking ‘power board’ with a valve supply triac stuck; but could it be the PCB behind the facia? Due to the cost, I need to be sure.
I can send you the wiring diagram, may help you to ID the individual triacs, although there is only one audible click from pressure switch it does have a second switch which kicks in on overfill, similar to the WMA switch, blowing up the switch can activate this switch unless you blow very gently.
Is the “click” the correct or overfill level, Jim?? If so, it clicked as I activated the switch – then drained. 😕 Have you ever had a p/sw fail on this type of machine before? I have ordered one just in case.
The click is the normal level, only ever had one switch fail on any WD range, a hybrid timer one with a no spin fault, machine would wash & distribute, changed the timer first without success. 😳
