    After 9 Months my Hotpoint has started to squeal mostly on the dry cycle. The Hotpoint engineer advised that the lubricant on the plain bearing seal at the rear of the drum has dried out and the squeal will cure itself eventually….

    Should I believe him 😕

    This is the “wee wee” noise in time with the drum turning? If so it means that what grease was lubricating the seal has now been washed away by water. Listen for a rumble developing over the next couple of months the get them back pronto!
