yep, its greenish in colour, very brittle, useless, and about as much use as a chocolate fireguard!

Maybe should have found out what plastic they are made of before spending the £35K then.

Participantwe already use the £35k worth of kit for another non related application, but found we can modify it. we just needed to know which virgin plastic type to purchase…… we are all on the same team arent we?

Not seen any Hotpoint tubs failing just yet. Most are only just coming out of initial g/tee. Have seen a few Indesits, one with snapped drum support at 18 months 😥 , hardly worth the aggravation involved removing Indesit drums, Hotpoint ones with removable front panel are a different proposition altogether. The Indesit drum support is very thin compared to the WMA one, but rumour is that the latest welded drums have the old 9500/WM type bearings in them, do they have the old drum supports as well?
Very interesting developement wiper69.. 8)
Jim.
Just realised, it was you who started the rumour, 😳 😆

Participantits not a rumour, the welded tub has the old 95 bearing and seal in it, because i have replaced it, and rewelded it. the axle is similar to the wma one but thinner. it has the nickel sleeve that seals onto the 95 seal. we all know how long that lasts!
