Initial complaint, machine won’t start.
Noticed that all of the lower buttons around the main control area including the Start/Cancel button were pushed in slightly. Switched on and display lit up and went to ON. I could select all programmes but when I pressed the Start/Cancel button, zippo, zilch, nothing at all, not even cancel.
I removed the module and had to file the edges of the On & Start/Cancel buttons to stop them fouling on each other.
Refitted and tried again without success. Removed once more and tested the small surface mounted Start/Cancel micro switch and it was working fine.
Slotted in the hardware key and set to auto test.
It ran through the test, filled, wash action, drain and distribute. It seems to go through the wash part of the test rather quickly and stayed on distribute for quite some time before switching to END without going into spin.
It did not display any error messages at all. 😕
As it is only 3 years old I have referred them back to Hotpoint but was curious as to what others make of this. More than likely the super reliable PCB I presume. :rolls:
