Once the screws are removed, push the lid from the front (towards the rear) with the palm of your hand. 😉

lift lid from back as best as poss then smack it hard with the heel of your hand at the front left and right hand sides, they can be a bugger but they will give… 😀

Well it’s more of a very sharp push required, perhaps with both palms?

Only need to push it back a fraction to clear the front plastic lugs from the fascia panel. Then it just lifts off!

Then have the super glue ready to put the bits of plastic back on that break off 😥

I work for them and as Grendel says just give it a smack i usually do it in the centre with one hand.
Not normally a problem on washing machines it’s the tumble dryers that can be the difficult ones.
Don’t worry you wont break anything.

The belt part no = 1603287

I guess you’ve done a few WMA belt changes?….They are just the same!

In situ Hotpoint supply a belt fitting tool. Without one its a bugger but strong cable ties strapped to the drum pulley is the way forward. 😉

To remove most of the new type lids with the large tabs, after removing screws use a large flat head screwdriver inbetween the frame and tab a gently lever each side, They dont break honest, Ive done a few like this with no problems, at least it saves bruising your palms.

I guess our Northern palms are made of stronger stuff, 😛 😆

I always use the sharp rap with the heels of both hands, never fails.
