Machine sometimes works fine but sometimes the Power, Mini Load and Reduce Crease lights flash. According to the error codes posted on here (thanks gents) this is F12, Communication Error. I suppose this could be a fault in either board or the wiring but is there a common cause for this error? I’ve only worked on 2 or 3 of these newer machines so far.

    Re: Hotpoint WF220

Did see this yesterday but have little to go ATM. As this machine is only just coming out of gaurantee I am starting to see more of them, however it will take some time before the more common faults start to register.

Not seen F12 myself so difficult to advise.

Of the two boards I would say that the lower, power board is more prone to failure but would check all the wiring contacts and squeeze the connecter blocks with the very thin wiring.

With the very small lower back panel, the lower board is a PITA to access.

Thanks, I’ve just discovered that it uses the same board as the WF440 with just a different EEPROM. I still have such a board as I’m waiting for new wiring loom sections on backorder. I will try the other board and see what happens. I assume the EEPROM is the 8 pin chip that plugs into a socket?

Looked at customers module today and it has a surface mount EEPROM soldered to the board so can’t be readily swapped onto another module. Rang EMW and they tell me you can’t swap boards/ EEPROMs because different ones have different relays. Apparently the new boards you buy come with everything fitted so they will work a range of models but the original build will contain a module with only just the bits needed for that machine. Also, because the old EEPROM can’t be unplugged you need to order a new one to go with the new board, even if the old one was OK.
