Hi Have the above that seemed to happen after plain water was spilled over the worktop above the unit but when opened up the next day everything inside was dry so i don’t know if the water got inside (don’t think so).
So no fault codes just wont start any cycle and lock light wont illuminate (except when holding the cancel button they all flash)have taken lock unit off inspected then back on again nothing
Any ideas ?
Thanks
Robert
Re: Hotpoint WF220 no door lock light so not starting
Door switch failure is quite common on these machines but often they go short circuit and also burn out copper strips on the main circuit board which resides in the bottom at the back of the machine. If you do change the door switch you should note there are 2 types that will fit your model but the 3 pin plug wires face the front for one type and the back of the machine for the other type.

Thanks Phidom
Had a local repair man out he swapped door switch and confirmed what you said main board needed 🙁 .
So decided as its 6 years old to go new
Thanks Robert
