my wf220 broke the other week, on opening i found the left hand hanging spring had snapped. ive picked up a new spring and fitted it. on the first test run after the fix it started ok then after awhile it stopped and now the power button is flashing very fast and the rinse hold is flashing too.
anyone know what the problem could be ?

Check the motor paying attention to the connector and cables. Sounds like when the spring has broken the motor has taken a knock…Power off before you start!!

Also, have a look at the two thin cables that come out of the front of the motor into the connector block for damage…..

Just checked can’t see any loose or damaged wires. I took motor right out checked all over it and all seems fine. Cannot see any problems anywhere below the drum.
When you press start it does the door locked and wash light and starts to fill then after a few seconds there’s a click where I’m guessing the motor would normally start. Then as I say rinse hold and power button flash fast and it starts emptying and keeps going even after you can hear there is no water going down the drain.
Is it time for a new machine ?
Shame as I’m quite proud of myself keeping it going. I’ve changed the bearings and the motor brushes in the last couple of years.

Check the wires from the motor connector back to the pcb. Check the edge connector on the pcb is tight.

Yeah checked and all ok. I can see some scraping on the white plastic cover to the PCB , guess it got bashed when the spring snapped and the drum dropped. I’m going to take the motor out again and check it over.
