Hotpoint WF310 All Lights & No Action!

Hello, please can someone advise on my problem…

Hotpoint WF310 had just completed a load, when lights stayed flashing and I had to overide to get the washing out. Went to use it again and not working at all. This is what happens….

Put washing in, close door, Press ‘Start’ machine makes the ‘donk’ noise, all lights flash on and ‘Wash’ stays on, after a couple of minutes the ‘Door locked’ light starts flashing and then nothing. I have to cancel the program to try again and the same thing happens.

We have cleaned the filter, ensured there is no water leaks, the door is closed securely & locks – so is it easily fixable or as it is about 6 years old I am eyeing up a new machine! Any advice on what to try would be appreciated.

If the door does lock then check the motor brushes.

Yes the door locks ok – motor brushes – how easy is that to fix/change? Thanks.

Very straight forward. Two screws hold each black plastic brush holder onto the back end of the motor. Tip the machine back and they are serviceable from there. 🙂
