ParticipantOK – Interesting one from this morning,
Went to see a Hotpoint WF321. As soon as mains power is applied pretty much all the LED’s on the panel start flickering / flashing on and off. Flickering is random but continuous. No buttons work – not even the on / off.
Checked the obvious like edge connectors and wiring. Machine looks very low mileage and is owned by an elderly couple who say it is less than 4 years old. Kitchen does not seem damp in the slightest.
I’m obviously fearing the worst and think control module fault. Just wondering if it could be the front panel itself? On this machine the control module is in the rear right base.
Any similar experiences?
Steve.

Cured the same problem with a recon main pcb, the guy on the phone said it was a common power supply failure.

Had two in the last week . Easy fix !!
Largest in the 3 capacitors on the main board rated 680u – 10v ….
Domed the top so sweated it off and replaced by a farnell item , cost all of 17 pence . Downside is you can only buy them in tens , i can live with that though … 😆December 23, 2009 at 3:48 pm #262606neilsukwg
