ParticipantNot see one of these before – I believe it’s a common one cured by replacing a capacitor

The lady says the machine won’t start but if you keep trying the on button relentlessly it will eventually start and run through its programme with no problems.
Is this the same fault?? Sounds like it…

Thanks for that – I eventually got the machine out – after lots of huffing and puffing and cursing of kitchen fitters – the woman then turned around and said “yes my son fitted our kitchen out at Christmas time…” oh well she knows the truth now… 😳
Not such a good job, leaking pipe and very definate sewer smell that filled the kitchen when I eventually got the machine out….I thought it might be the motor at first as insulation was down to 5Meg but a quick clean sorted that. Yep largish cap on the board was domed and obviously not good – new cap getting fitted…..
You can get it to work she showed me, if you’re persistent enough it accepts the programme and spins away merrily

was the c17 cap. works a treat now.
Also got told in no certain terms that I’m talking out a my back side – well according to the customers son. It’s the appliance that is causing the sewer smell not his work.
So checked machine, not a particularly bad smell inside. Normal level of WM odour, nothing a service wash can’t sort out.
Pulled machine out and the sewer smell filled the room. Woman started, see I told you it’s the washer not my sons work….. errrmmm bites lip and shuts up.
Also got told that the leak from the pipework is not there as well… it was there again when I checked !!
Finished the job and whilst filling out the receipt, you could hear the doubt in her voice… it is the machine isn’t it??? My son wouldn’t rip me off would he?? I did pay £14K for me kitchen…… chuffing hell….
From what I could see, amoungst many other problems, the WM empties into a stand pipe with no trap on it…… She loves him, she must do for £14K for a bog standard Howdens kitchen with reused old appliances.
