Hotpoint WF340 – Doing what it wants

I am confused 😕 and needing help

This machine will sometimes turn on and will sometimes let you select a programme. Great so far

But then on other times you can press the on/off button and nothing
or it switches on and press start nothing.
or it switches on, press start and off it goes and goes and goes never to stop.

I think its a problem with the module but would appricate any other throughts.
