Hi, I have a hotpoint wf340 washing machine and in the last couple of days when I have tried to use it,

It seems to work fine but half way through a cycle it just stops with no lights illuminated as if the fuse has blown but I haave check the power and there is power going to it. After a couple of hours the machine will come back on but does not continue the cycle. Any help would be very grateful Roisin

Hi, Thanks for your reply I have called a electrician who has just checked the sockets in the kitchen and he is saying they are fine as it acts just like the power has gone from the washing machine. I just wondered if there was anything I could do to find out if its repairable or will I need a new machine. Many Thanks Roisin

in that case, its either the mains supressor, or the pcb

the supressor comes with a cable, and isnt that expensive

but its more likely to be the pcb, and that gets pretty expensive to be honest

Hi Helo, You were right he has just found that the actual switch on the plug socket was shorting out so its a new switch socket and not the washing machine….phew thanks for your very fast replys….Roisin

your welcome!!! for anyone else that reads this, check your sockets regularly – the signs of problems are obvious, its becoming more common

    good luck!
