Hi, I have a hotpoint Wf340G which 9 months ago stopped mid cycle and would not refill. Hotpoint man came out for his £90 and changed board and chip.
The callout waiting time was 3 weeks so I bought a new washer in the meantime. A bit silly on my part I did not check the Wf340G after the repair. 9 months later I have put it in a rental property of mine and although it worked for a few times ( I think although I do not trust the tenants to give me an accurate analysis, as they often donn’t notice or even care) it has now gone completely.
When I turn on it goes through the lights all on stage settles down to one light on wash, the water presurises to the switch inside ( I hear the thwmp sound) then nothing. No water coming in, no starting at all.
I have options.
1. call back the hotpoint man as his work is under 12 month guarantee
2. Chuck the washer away.
My concern is are the two faults related? and if not the hotpoint man comes back will he charge me another 90 to fix a machine which is obviously craply made. He didn’t check the machine working. He did his repair via the computer port only.
Do these faults sound related? if so I suppose I will gamble on the repair man.
Any ideas will be helpful
Thanks
John
