machine start fills start to turn ok around 30 secs later (approx) all light com on then go off macine resets and starts again does not like responding to buttons
assume it is a board gone unless anyone can come up with a silly fault but this machine has 2 boards the indesit style prog down at bottom and the display control panel that also has a chip on it

Why???
It is still under Hotpoint’s 5 year parts warranty, admittedly the labour is a bit high at just under £90.00, do the decent thing if this machine belongs to a customer of yours and tell them this. I always do, it helps me sleep at night.Jim.

have already mentioned 5 year part warranty to customer she was worried that she had not registered the machine when new but lokking through the leaflets you could do it by post so i told her to say she sent it
most of the time i tell about 5 year warranty if they are going to sell s**t they deserve the comebacks

As long as they have a receipt, Hotpoint/Indesit will honour the 5 year g/tee, we all know the ‘registration’ process is mainly just a way of getting your details so that they can bombard you with mailshots pushing extended warranties.
Even the date code on the door should suffice, I am 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} certain that the Indesit Company would not refuse to honour a warranty because the machine was not registered, as long as you can prove D.O.P .

One of my customers rung up while i was there and just gave the model and serial numbers over the phone and that was enough which was quite good i thought if only all things were that easy 🙂

Just a quick note. The decision on D O P ‘s is left to the Hotpoint engineer that turns up. If your date code is in time, he will repair without further problem, UNLESS you get one that has some sort of problem and likes to make life awkward.

You need to identify the time saver light by number from the top down, then use the information in the known error codes thread.

thanks for your reply it is the fourth light down the time saver light jim do you think the machine just needs reset as the problum was a blockage after that the owner said the washed rugs in the machine i said the have bother washing clothes never mind washing rugs then when i went back to reset the son said it was working ok but when i contacted the mother she said it was not and was not paying and was buying a new machine so i told her if she did not want to pay that i would take the machine as payment as it was only 2 yrs old have not heard from her since last week so i rekon the retset the machine how do you get people to pay up as i am straight with people and said i would try and get the machine going for her 😡 fasetester

For future reference that is error code F01 which is the motor triac on the board failed. 🙁
fasetester wrote:how do you get people to pay up
You can’t, in fact in this case I would simply put it down to experience gained if I were you. But next time you get one of these machines to look at, print off a copy of the error codes thread first. 😉 That is invaluable information that will save any headscratching in the customers home, and will hopefully lead to a faster diagnosis and a happy paying customer. 🙂

thanks for your reply martin the machine seemed to be tumbling ok before i removed the pump and the blockage do you think the blockage could have caused the triac on the board to blow is there any way to test the board i covered the board and the motor with a carrier bag to stop them from getting wet what a place to put a board straight under the pump so holding in the start button for 3 sec would not have reset the program fasetester 🙁
