ParticipantI went to a Hotpoint WF440P that was sticking. It washes for several hours and the customer cancels the program and moves it to rinses. It’s not siphoning btw.
I plugged in the auto test dongle and there was no last error shown, the auto test went through to the end without producing an error either.Using logic (which is often risky) I decided that if the heater, thermister, pump, valves etc were causing the problem the machine would abort and produce an error code. So I fitted a PCB and eeprom which has not cured the fault.
What the?

Andy – if its washing for 4 hrs then it can’t be heating (else it would boil). Presumably this has the same f codes as the Ariston evo range?
If so:-
There is no actual f code that can detect an o/c heater/wiring/module plug, only the output from the relay (f08). have you checked the supply to the heater through to the module, and the heater continuity?

Hi
If the heater is open circuit, my experience has been that the Indesit’s and Hotpoint’s machine will not fill or empty and is basically dead apart from the door interlock and lights. That’s why I didn’t check the heater. I don’t know if the WF440 range is different?

Hi
I don’t know about the new machines but on some of the older machines ( 2 – 3 years, is that considered old nowadays!!) eg A1234 I have disconnected the heater with no error code, the machine just carried on washing with no heat. Disconnect the thermistor and an immediate F03 is issued.
Having said that, not many fault codes seem to be implemented on the earlier machines, not on the front panel (flash sequence) anyway. Whether the error is available at the dongle port is another matter.
Its worth checking anyway
Regards Andy 🙂

I hope you dont start kicking yourself if the heater is open circuit, remember if the machine does fills with hot water, this will give a false sense and the module will not throw a fault as it will sense some heat initially. ❓
