Went to this customer last week; fault not pumping and stopping mid cycle. (No lights flashing reported) Took 20p out of the filter, tested on rinse and spin all ok. Just had a call from her “first time I used it” scenario (three kids, repair eight days ago) She says that the pre-wash light flashes from start on any program, (although not selected) not washing but will rinse and spin fine.

Anybody got a Scooby what she’s on about?

Anybody who used the SEARCH facility might have a clue. :rolls:

Its usually a fill time out fault, faulty valve, no water supply ( frozen up) tap turned off etc. It may not actually be rinsing, just draining and spinning.

If that all checks out then its the PCB, or at least thats according to the large number of threads that come up if you enter ‘Hotpoint AND prewash AND flashing’ in the search box. 😉

Sorry Jim, didn’t know a search section existed. Only use the site to check occasionally if my personnel fountain of knowledge could possibly enhance someone’s life or to put up one of my own problems. Found the search facility and will use it in future. Consider my knuckles firmly rapped!

😀 Virtually all internet forums have a search box. 😉
