Hotpoint WF541 – opening it up?

Hello all

My Hotpoint WF541 has recently refused to start. The ‘Door Locked’ light stays off when the door is closed and I’m pretty sure its a problem with the door interlock.

Can anyone give me a detailed explanation of how to take the front panel off? I’ve taken all visible screws out, but it is nowhere near coming off.

Where are all the hidden screws and how do I get to them?

usually you can release the door-seal gasket and get your hand between the tub and the casing….can’t say if this applies to yours, though.

Always unplug first! switching off does NOT necessarily render it safe. also,switch off first , wait 1/2 hour to allow capacitors to discharge,then unplug and proceed.

If you just pull the plug, leave for a couple of hours before poking inside.

If the door locks but you have no door locked indication you have a Moter Fault. (Brushes etc)
