ParticipantWhen i turn the washing machine on using the on/off switch i have got lights 1,2,3 & 4 flashing as well as the final spin and on/off light. This has been happening for about the last fortnight and i have managed to clear it by keep turning the power on and off at the plug and it will eventually reset. But tonight i cannot reset it.
I have tried doing a search on this fault but all the problems listed only have a few lights flashing.
Would anybody be able to tell me what the fault is as if it is a simple cheap job to do i don’t really want to have to spend £100 getting hotpoint out for a £5 part.
I must admit i am thinking along the lines or worse case and it being the control module.
Thanks in advance

Participantr u sure those codes are right?
1,2,3 &4 signifies a dryer heater relay fault
and its not a washer dryer
your not counting the on/off light in that are you?

Hi, Yes there is 4 lights flashing down the left side
1 = Wash Enhance
2 = Reduced Creases
3 = Rinse Hold
4 = Mini load
Plus the final spin and on/off button.These lights were flashing when i turned the power on at the wall.
I tried switching the power on and off at the wall and eventually all the lights went out, i then pressed the on/off button and now i have all the lights flashing, 5 down the side and all of them along the top.DOH!!

Thanks for the reply. I take it that control module is the box at the back of the machine in the bottom corner.
Is this is an easy job i do myself or should i get Hotpoint in to do this.
If i can do this myself can anybody recomend where to buy the spare part from.

The module is the box at the back as you describe. Your machine is under 5 years old so Hotpoint (Indesit) will do the job for about £99 with the part included. It’s really the only economical way to repair it. I wouldn’t recommend this as a DIY job……..sorry!!
