Hotpoint wf640 lights up,but does not start.

Hi Hope someone can help.washing machine was working until husband thought he would give it a clean and put costic soda in my drum and put it though its cycle it worked then.Now it lights up ,but does not start.and also flashes on crease mode,”as he ruined my machine”.Help Please trotsue

Caustic soda and a heap of other so-called cures can very possibly wreck your washing machine, that’s why manufacturers will never tell you to put these things in a washing machine. 😉

It’s possible that there’s foam in it locking up the pressure switch and giving the error which will clear in time hopefully but I’d try to get it to run a rinse only to clear it.
