Hotpoint WF740 washing machine

I have a 7 year old wf740. It’s been fine apart from the usual things like coins stuck in the pump etc!

However, now when I press the start button the wash light comes on as usual then nothing more happens. No fault codes no warnings. Nothing. To get the door opened I have to clear the program to get the door open!

I have noticed that the red lights are much duller than usual.

Any help would be appreciated!

Could be brushes on motor, does the door lock but the door lock light does not come on

Thanks for reply! The light is off when I press start. There is a noise from the left of the machine like a solenoid click or a motor locking up?? (Hard to describe) the wash light is on but the door light is off. No action from the machine, I don’t know if the damm thing thinks the door is opened!!!! When I press cancel all the lights light up to reset.
