    Hello
I have an (intermittent) problem with my Hotpoint WF840 which is that water gushes out of the soap drawer during the rinse cycle, at 31 mins and 19 mins remaining, which is when the machine is pumping out, during the rinse part of the programme.
(I’m not just talking about a dribble here, but a proper fountain that squirts some distance from the machine and goes *everywhere*, which is a massive pain.)
Although some of the water exits via the wastepipe as normal, a considerable torrent bursts forth from the soap drawer.
This is intermittent, but seems to be getting more regular as time goes on.
I had a chap call round to look at it, but he shrugged his shoulders and went on his way again without so much as taking out a screwdriver.
Can anyone suggest anything I could investigate?
I’m thinking this sump pipe I’ve read about, from the drum to the waste outlet, which supposedly has a filter in it, but I don’t know how to access it..?
Or perhaps the pump needs replacing..?
    Thanks in advance
    Jim

    Ah yes – thanks.
I followed the link within that thread and found richardable’s helpful post describing where the filter is. I think I can see it in my machine so I will attack it later on.
    Thanks
