ParticipantI remember reading about this fault somewhere on UKW but can’t remember the conclusion. The machine sticks (full of water) with 1 minute left displayed.
It’s definitely not the PCB or the pressure switch. Any ideas (please)?April 16, 2005 at 9:12 am #131771andy_art_trigg

I’ve just studied all the last 20 topics and the other similar post I remembered was a Bosch and it started fusing. Anyone any ideas on this one for a Hotpoint sticking on 1 minute full of water. I know it was emptying Ok when I fitted the PCB & eeprom but I left it running on a full cycle (after doing basic functional tests) and rang customer back a few hours later to find it hadn’t cured the fault. If it was a pump failure surely it would trigger a pump error code? I get the impression (although I haven’t seen it stck) that it’s actually stuck on a wash or rinse cycle.

I had one or two doing this, I reprogrammed the eeprom and the problem went away. One of the things I’ve found with the EVO2 machines (the test plug glows blue when inserted), is they sometime mess up when they are writing statistics to the eeprom, if there’s a transient on the mains when they are writing, they will corrupt the program. If Mr Customer is doing some DIY and his power drill is throwing out spikes on the mains, or if the socket the machine is plugged into is duff they can all lead to the machine starting to behave in a strange way. If you don’t have a reprogrammer, change the eeprom.

Interesting. Thanks for that, however the new pcb and eeprom hadn’t cured it.

yes, it’s the sort of fault that 2 minutes with the test plug and wash doctor software would deal with.
