ModeratorComplaint of no fill, customer has not seen any error codes.
All valves check out OK. Set to any wash or rinse programme, door locks then after a short while the motor runs at wash speed but there is no fill.
Dug out my hardware key and blew off the cobwebs 😉
Plugged it in and set machine machine onto auto test. Console display showed ‘Test’.
The machine filled (not sure which valve) then washed for a short time. The drain pump then kicked in and the motor ran at wash speed in a clockwise direction. It did this for a couple of minutes then the machine stopped, the console showed ‘End’ but the hardware key was blank. No error messages of any kind. 😕 😕
I am guessing at a software/PCB fault, unless you know otherwise. 🙂

Participantas u know, the ONLY fault that the key doesnt show is a heater fault
since the valves are ok, and it filled on test, have you meggered the heater?
not trying to teach you how to suck eggs jim, its more than likely a pcb fault, id just check the heater to be doubly sure

Heater was fine, surely a heater fault would not stop the machine filling on any wash or rinse programme though. 😕

Jim,
I think that you are inside DEMO mode… just there machine will run without water… when you put hardware key and force him into Auto-Test mode will work… but as soon as you take out the key you will be back into DEMO….December 7, 2007 at 10:20 pm #236507iadom

Hi Adrian, if it was in DEMO mode it should display d on then tESt on the console display after you have selected a programme. In fact you can select all the various programmes and it will show all correct details on the display etc, it will also drain & spin perfectly.
As I mentioned it will not complete the full Auto Test routine, it aborts after a few minutes without and error messages of any kind.

Not necessary… Months ago I have posted one problem with one machine which was stuck on “demo” but he didn’t show into display nothing… just played with me like any programms I have choosed he worked same sh… so I tried to take out from demo and I was lucky…
But in other cases when for example is stuck on “tESt” or even after is carrying good programms until final spin when is showing “F08” could be same problem when some values of registers inside RAM processor program are wrong (basic program is damaged)…In fact you can select all the various programmes and it will show all correct details on the display etc, it will also drain & spin perfectly.

Jim.Did you tried with another PCB or at least new EEPROM?
It is any possibility to read and send to me your memory program in order to analize his problem?

The machine is under five years old, have referred the customer back to Hotpoint.
I would guess that no one in the UK independent trade actually carry these modules, we just send them for repair or order a new one. We don’t have the facility to re write the eeproms or access the memory that you have. 😥
