Hi, you helped me out once before with some prompt and spot on help and I have a problem now with my mum’s machine (Hotpoint WM 53).

It normally fills to about the bottom of the door but for some reason it has started to take in more water I noticed it filled to over 1/2 wayand switched the machine off. I told her not to use the machine as it could do more harm.

Does the machine have a pressure switch/tube arrangement from the outer drum that clicks and shuts off the inlet valves and are they readily available to buy? I will check the hose first as I seem to recall reading a thread about the pipes blocking/splitting.

    Your thoughts would be appreciated.

    Marky Mark,

The problem will be due to the “Air Bell” saturated with ‘crud’ and needs carefully removing and cleaning.

Not a regular DIY job though 🙁 so I would recommend contacting your local firm to sort it 🙂 Look into our “Directories” section for one of our approved agents to fix it at a modest cost 😉
