Went to this washing mahine today no spin. First thing i check is brushes they are fine turned out it is the fuse in the motor had blown. I changed that and checked the comm etc all ok went into spin etc ok then when it started to slow down after finishing spin motor went bang and blew fuse again. Any ideas as i used to be a hotpoint engineer and never had this problem.

What fuse? Is this something I don’t know about? Is it the FHP motor then?
Only thing I know of is a t.o.c. in old type motor which is self resetting I thought. 😕
Very unusual fault whatever it is you’re referring to. Sounds like time for a new/exchange motor. Some s/h ones have been going on e-bay pretty reasonable if you’re out of stock.

Armature, TOC and brushes will sort it. You’ll have to have an ARM20 and TOC17 from a Qualtex agent – you can still do the gen carbons. Or a new motor, but not many want to pay that much on a machine that age these days.

    Cheers,
    Chris.
