    Hi

    Ancient Hotpoint washer.

During conditioner rinse cycle, it fills to a point below door glass and then stops filling, then simultaneously, the drum rotates (about half a revolution) and the drain pump kicks in for about four or five seconds. Then the whole cycle repeats again.

Goes on like this for some time, but eventually carries on as normal. Wouldn’t mind but I’m on a water meter, and it’s also a waste of a precious resource.

    Timer stuck perhaps?

They called it step cooling reducing the temp of the water to prevent creasing rather than pouring cold water onto hot clothes..

Thanks Dave and Johnny, you learn something new every day. I’ve recently replaced the bearings so I’ll hang onto the dinosaur for a while longer.
