How do you remove the front control panel of a Hotpoint WM22?

There’s a screw on each side, on the top – but there’s obviously something else keeping it in place. Do I need to remove anthing prior to removing the front panel? (i.e. dial/buttons)

The reasoning behind this, is that the power LED is behind the push buttons, about 6″ away from the LED light area. The LED still works. I just want to re-position it, if at all possible.

Its DIY weekend, hence all my questions. Many thanks for your help.

No screws on the top of console, four around the soap drawer cavity and two behind the timer control knob.

I would advise against trying to move the power light, if you damage the plastic facia which is quite brittle you will not be able to obtain another as it will be obsolete.

What do you mean by the ‘LED light area’ 😕

There is a green power neon over the buttons and a red Rinse Hold neon over the Rinse Hold switch. The cables are an exact length and should not be extended. If you try to route both neon cables to one side they may foul on the buttons and facia.

it only has one LED, red/orange to the top right of the front panel which indicates on/off.

So why do you want to move it and where would you be moving it to?

I don’t follow what you meant by the LED light area. 😕
