Hello – trying to find some help for my 84 year old Grandfather, who is something of a shade-tree electrician. He had a fault on the pcb for his washing machine, which he has fixed, but forgot to mark which wire onto the PCB went where before taking them off! Apparently he’s managed to replace all but 3, which are identical and he’s worried about getting them the wrong way round. There are apparently 2 Blue wires, 2 Black and one green. He’s figured out one goes to the motor and another one, however, there are three left with identical connectors, which are confusing him. I would add that he’s been working with electronics since he fixed radars in Spitfires, so there’s not much chance of him electrocuting himself…Any help / suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Cheers, Richard

First things first, most faults on these boards are caused by other component failure, door locks and motor faults two likely candidates. Have these been checked/replaced/repaired?

When you say he has blue, black & green wires, I assume you do not mean wires but connector blocks.

There are only two separate wires on these timers that fit at the very front lower edge of the board, all the other connections are via connector blocks.

If you can trace the wires from each block to its destination I may be able to help.

Please make sure the plug is removed.
