    I would be very grateful for any advice please.

    My hotpoint First Edition 800 WM51 has just started to get incredibly noisy on spin cycle and is making clanking noises during rinse cycle. I have just done a white wash to find that horrible black scummy marks have been deposited all over my clothes.

    Help? I purchased the machine as part of the fixtures of my flat when I moved in 3 years ago and have no warranty/purchase information. Is it worth repair or do I need a new machine?

    the machine is approx 10years old
    it would need new drum bearings and a new drum shaft
    phone local guys and ask for a price for above repair
    it is a pretty good machine but repair costs will be high
