    Hi
When I start the machine it works for only a few seconds then stops. If I leave it a short while and put the plug back in then exactly the same happens again. Can anyone please advise me
    regards

What happens if you select a spin programme?

Exactly the same. Just seems to burst into life for literally a few seconds then thats it.

Strange, not usually caused by a motor brush problem but it wouldn’t do any harm to check them first.

Does the door stay locked even after it cuts out?

With the mains plug removed you could also check all of the wiring harness paying particular to where it passes the large concrete balance weight, low down at the front.

If all that checks out then it points to a PCB fault.

    Thanks
I will check them out. If its the PCB then its not worth repairing is it?

    Appreciate your help

If the drum bearings are sound then it should be good for a few more years yet.

Better than anything on offer from Hotpoint (Indesit) on the current market.

    Re: Hotpoint WM52 start problem

I have all the parts (except motor) from a WM52 that I scrapped a while ago.

The drum had self destructed, and was completely loose inside it’s housing, so I dismantled the machine, kept the useful parts and scrapped the rest.

So if anyone needs any bits, please PM me.
