Hotpoint WM54 timer blown

    What causes the fuse to blow on this timer? Checked motor etc.
    fitted replacement salvaged timer and it works ok.

    Something jamming the drum, chaffed wiring, duff motor usual suspects.

    Delaminated motor brushes (white holders) causes brushes to jam in the holders and overheat. Also armature failure.

    The control units that have a fuse usualy had a FHP motor, it would only be laminated brushes if a new unit had been fitted to an older machine and the WM54 is a later machine.
