ParticipantHotpoint wma10 will not spin with a load in it,spins fine empty.
Have changed module and motor but has not made any difference. All wiring checked can see no damage or bad connections.Goes right through cycle but does not spin.No problems empty spins up to full speed but put in a dry shirt and no spin 😕
Any ideas as think I have another one with the same problem to look at later in the week 😮January 23, 2006 at 10:47 pm #161918iadom

Strange one, might be worth changing the motor to module harness, part number 1603396, it is only a few pounds and should eliminate any possible bad contacts. I always carry one.
Do you get any of the option lights flashing when it malfunctions?January 23, 2006 at 11:00 pm #161919jag-12
ParticipantRe: HOTPOINT WMA 10 NO SPIN
No lights flashing just finishes cycle as normal but no spin.Have a spare harness from scrap machine so will give it a try.Just that it works fine empty which suggests some kind of out of balance fault. 😕

Run with load no spin, turn off at mains( to preserve program) open door, remove load, spins. 😕 Repeat and replace load no spin!!!
Run up empty with door open spins fine .Throw in a load and it stays spinning 🙄January 24, 2006 at 7:04 am #161922bobokines

This sounds the same as the Servis problem with stretched belt… I have not seen this on a Hotpoint though.

Sounds like the unbalanced load scenario doesn’t it. The machine won’t go into spin but will keep trying to distribute the load.

Doesnt matter what size the load it just wont spin, only takes a single light item to stop it.Seems to be that system is sensing load is out of balance and tries to rebalance but have replaced motor and module with ones out of working machine.Still the same.It has become personal now 😡

If you have changed the motor and module, the only other component directly involved in the spin process is the level switch……..

Got to be the OOB (out of balance) surely? If it spins every atempt with an empty load and there are no fault codes, that indicates the compnents are all working fine………maybe dodgy motor………reading unbalanced load everytime there is something in the drum even tho the load maybe perfectly ok? I would have to try another motor personally……..very odd, I look forward to reading the cure!

Bit of a long shot, but what about the RF suppressor?.
Not had this problem on a wma, but used to get problems with the old servis quartz – computer resetting when ramping up to spin under load!January 24, 2006 at 6:55 pm #161931wilf
ParticipantRe: HOTPOINT WMA 10 NO SPIN
check wires on the right end of mod one to heater one to p/sw had a similar fault customer had fiddled about and got them mixed up I think its insulated to the outside but check first
