any body else had problems with non gen carbons on these motors, causing melt down of holder shorting and blowing control panel ?

Always use genuine , never had a problem. I know from past usage of non-gen hotpoint carbons that this was a problem 😥 😀

Sad to say, of the three different motors used in these machines, Bosch, FHP & CESET, the Bosch is the worst of them. It is more likely to blow the board than the other two. I had one last week where the original brushes had melted out through the side of the plastic surround, luckily they stopped it as soon as they heard the awful noise and the PCB was undamaged.

PS. would always fit gen carbons to these, not that expensive if you buy a few.

I allways use Qualtex CAR98’s and have never had a problem.
But you got me worried now so perhaps I’d better start stocking genuine ones
