Fitted new pump made sure all the hoses were clear a looked for any obstuctions though the sump hose connection and tried again but same as before, removed sump hose again removed float ball but still the same, apart from something floating around in the drum has anybody got any ideas please

Was at a H/P WT741 to day, not draining. Through door glass could see the dreaded bath and floor mat, anyway remove machine from under worktop and on further inspection found no blockage whatsoever.
Looking at drain hose where it goes through side hole in unit found hose to be squashed flat due to machine being pushed back against it.
Once repaired pump drained no prob, have had this before but bath mats made me start looking in pump and sump area.
If machine drains into waste pipe via spiggot take this off and check for blockage have found 5p in here before.

When I first got to the machine I checked the spigot and found it was almost totally blocked but the pump still didn’t drain imeadiatley after that, there was still a minutes or two when the pump sounded empty then it started to pump the water out.

Hi
Had this problem once while I worked for Hotpoint, found the corrugated hose to pump from filter needed adjusting (re-aligning) it seemed to be forming an air lock somehow. Hope this helps, long shot but try it.October 29, 2007 at 8:31 pm #232336roy1

Have you removed the pump non return flap, they can cause a problem.

i once had this problem. the customer had used a “colour run” sheet which was like “bounce” sheet used in T/D’s. It was floating around in the drum.
