Hotpoint wma32

    Customer called in today about Hotpoint wma32 washer causing cold water pipes to bang and vibrate on spin.He has pulled the washer out and vibration and banging can be felt on pipes around house when machine is in full spin.Any ideas

    machine balanced? restraint springs snapped? bearings worn? suspension legs?.. could be any of these things.

    No,the noise is not from the machine.The cold water pipes around the house are banging,if the cold water is turned off on spin it stops

    Have you had a look ? sounds a strange one.
    Is the valve opening and closing quickly for some electrical reason causing water hammer in the pipes,megger all round!
    Domestic pipes should be secured enough to prevent water hammer.

    Are the water valves getting an intermitant voltage? if so could it be down to a bad connection somewhere in the machine, are the brushes “sparking” and a triggering the triacs. Earth fault on heater? shouldn’t be to hard to trace

    Picking up machine tomorrow,called to have a quick look,water can be felt pulsing along pipes causing the vibration but only happens on full spin.Thinking board fault
