ParticipantHi,
I am new to this. I have a problem with a hotpoint WMA32 washing machine. When a program is selected and the start button is pressed the machine starts as per normal. It fills the drum and then the drum turns once and the machine stops. Some lights on the front then light up which, I understand, is a code for an error. The problem is that I cannot find anywhere what the combination of lights mean.
The combination is:
Door Locked on
Prewash off
Wash on
Rinse & spin on
Final Spin on
End offAnyone got any ideas?

The sequence you describe doesn’t seem to match any error code I’m afraid MC 😕
Engineer time in all honesty I think, Repairs@ should provide you with someone 🙂

Dave,
Thanks for the response. I tried my parents address and guess what…”No service engineer in your area”. That said, the machine is in France and so I guess the response would be the same even if I tried my address.
I saw another issue on this site indicating that it may be some chafing of the tachometer feedback wire from the motor. I will check this tomorrow and see if I can fix it. Failing that, I will check out the engineers in France and then go buy another machine.
I’ll let you know.

It may or may not be of interest, or it could be that I like to talk to myself..who knows.
Anyway the problem was, according to an engineer, that the tacho was faulty in the motor. He said that it there was no point in replacing the tacho as you would have to dismatle the motor and that would be just too fiddly. He suggested to replace the motor.
However, try as I might I cannot get a part number for it.
So I gave up and bought another.

You only needed to ask, we would have been able to supply the part numbers without any problem. Three different motors fitted to this machine. Cost around £100.

Motor parts are not sold seperately (except motor brush assemblies) 🙁
