Went to above machine today. Reported blowing the trip a few seconds after start of cycle. Stuck my ohm-meter on the heater and it showed about 3 Megohms to earth. On removing the heater I was amazed to find a split in it about an inch long and 1/4 inch wide. The odd thing was that about a foot of heater wire protruded from the split, and was waving about in the breeze [or water]. Sorry my phone does not do photos. Also must say sorry to all our metric fans.
