ParticipantHi
My hotpoint washing machine wont go beyond final spin. It does fill up and wash but does not go beyong final spin… instead it does final spin then stops there. Machine does not continue to end program. Also the prewash light was flashing. Any help greatly appreciated.

Pre wash light flashing is supposed to be a fill valve problem, could be sticking pressure switch.
You could check the sump hose and pressure chamber located behind the lower back panel for any obstructions or gunge.
Plug out first as always.

When you say stops after final spin, can you then open the door as normal?
If not it could be a blockage in the pressure vessel, and if the brushes in the motor have never been renewed, then its worth checking those out as well

I cleaned out the gunge in the filter and blew down pressure pipe.. it was clear.. the pressure switch clicks as normal.. what i noticed is the washing machine seems to be stuck on spin.. it will spin once then repeat again and again on final spin.. how many spins are normal? When the machine was repeating spin.. third time, i nudged the door by pushing it gently and at once it started slowing down then stopped. Followed by a click and the end light on. By the way, the machine behaved better as it had cold and hot fill than when i had it on cold fill only.. which was connected to the hot water hose. Still think that its repeating spins unneccessarily. Any help? Thanx gentleman..
